The workshop includes:
Viewing a silent video about the place
A dialogue about children’s expectations and knowledge of the arts around the world
Viewing pictures of several paintings and talking about the children’s expectations of what they represent
The activity of assembling one of the paintings (either a painting cut to small pieces for them to assemble, or a set of small similar art pieces for each child to make their own painting)
Rai Abdelal
A writer with 20 years of experience in the media, holding writing training workshops and editing.
She worked on writing and producing several children's television programs for Sharjah TV, Sama Dubai, Al Jazeera Children's Channel and many other channels. Other leading television channels she has worked in include MBC and Abu Dhabi TV, where she worked as an editor and script writer for both live and recorded programs, as well as a head writer for season two of Sesame Street Arabic. She also worked as a content manager in (BilArabi) and has done many media related initiatives, contributions, workshops, and promotional film preparations for both private and government entities in UAE.
She is a certified trainer in creative writing at the Dubai International Writing Program - Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation.
She wrote several children's comic books over a period of six years for Khalid magazine, which is essentially issued by Dubai Police
She worked as an editor and a writer of children's books writer at Kalimat Publishing House in Sharjah.
She has more than 60 titles for children among publishing houses and educational projects such as (BelArabi).
She has won the Sharjah Creativity Award in the short story category in 2007 and the Ghanem Ghobash Short Story Award in 2010. Her writings were published in a number of Emirati newspapers and magazines, and currently works as a content manager in Alef education platform in Abu Dhabi.
